Japanese classic style living

The interior in this guestroom has all the hallmarks of classic Japanese interior design.

As June approaches and our first guests of the year draw near, Shibata-sensei is actively readying your accommodations. He is renovating a building that once belonged to his parents. The property sits approximately ten minutes on foot from the studio. With support from a municipal grant, Shibata-sensei is undertaking a complete renovation, encompassing kitchens and bathrooms.

Hans O. Karlsson

Swedish-born, Japan-seasoned and happily lost in the metaverse, I spend my days meeting fascinating humans from other cultures and my nights trying to remember which time zone my soul is in. My current magnum opus is a book called On the Shores of Shared Realities, in which I prod, poke, and gently hug the idea that virtual worlds might actually make the real one a little better. When I am not wandering digital temples and teahouses, I consult on all things Japanese – from culture and travel to helping retreats wobble, then walk, then sprint into existence
